Purpose Of Randolph High School Alumni Association, Incorporated

To provide charitable services to former students of the historic Randolph High School, Liberty, North Carolina.

 PREAMBLE

We, the members of the Randolph High School Alumni Association, Incorporated, also known as “RHSAA” are comprised of former students of this historic Black academic institution.  Founded in 1870 in an old Methodist Church, Randolph High School became the only high school in Randolph County where Black students could freely attend.  Due to integration of schools in 1965, the school was closed and students were dispersed to schools across the geographical region.  The RHSAA was created to ensure the special memories and legacy of this institution will be preserved forever.

Key Moment In RHS History

Randolph High School (RHS) closed its doors following the 1965 School Year.  Students were seen walking away from the facility built in 1951 into an uncertain future.  A young girl rises high above the school in her tree swing in front of the school.  The Eastern Randolph County Committee for Better Schools called the school closing "a grand opportunity for Black Students."  Others viewed it as a hardship for the Black Community.

RHS Alumni took a stand.  When they try to divide our people: we will not be divided.  When they tried to intimidate us; we will not be intimidated.

Today, RHS Alumni Association, Incorporated provides chartiable services to former students of the historic Randolph High School, Liberty, North Carolina.

Message From Our President

The Randolph High School Alumni Association, Incorporated (RHSAA) is a Non-Profit organization incorporated by the North Carolina State Corporation Commission and the Secretary of State in June 2009.  We are pleased with this current development because it affords us the opportunity to consider enhancing our outreach to Randolph High School Alumni and community at-large.  We will consider various efforts that may result in some economic development for the local region.

Support the RHSAA by volunteering for various activities throughout the year.  Of course, annual dues are a major source of our fundraising.

Regards, Will
